Time for Tea

Aubrey wanted to have a tea party for her 4th birthday, which, of course was very exciting to me because my grandmother (Mom Mom) always had tea parties with me as a little girl and has had two tea parties with Aubrey when we have gone to visit her. Aubrey was also given the choice of receiving gifts from all her friends or getting a few gifts from family and asking her friends to bring a donation for a charity of her choice. I am so proud of my daughters generous heart, she chose to ask her friends to bring a donation for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Her party was so much fun! Mom Mom and I were able to find enough tea cups and saucers at Goodwill, thrift stores and Old Time Pottery that all the girls could have tea with real tea cups and then could take them home. My Aunt Sonja and my mom Mimi painted nails and helped the girls choose jewelry to dress up in at Mimi's Pretty-in-Pink Boutique and I helped the girls decorate hats to wear to the tea party. The girls were gorgeous in their beautiful dresses sitting around the dining room table sipping their tea. My biggest worry for the party was being able to make the cake. I am a terrible dessert maker but to my surprise the tea pot cake turned out pretty cute. The party was a success and Aubrey raised $285.00 for St. Jude! Thank you to all who helped with the party and to those of who you joined us for tea and donated to St. Jude!

My little firecrackers

We had a fun July 4th. Our friends Steve and Krissy came over and we ate pizza and they brought lots of fireworks to shoot. Eli (my son) was terrified of the fireworks and cried the entire time but Aubrey loved every second and Ava slept thru the entire event. Sunday we went to Bridestreet and played in the fountains and then watched their firework show and because they were in the distance even Eli enjoyed them this time. Here are some cute pics of my little firecrackers. Eli is hard to catch so I did not get a really good one of him.

My Little Ballerina

Aubrey had her first ballet recital two days before Ava was born. She was the most precious ballerina. She did every step to her dance which I found to be very impressive for a three year old. She was a gorgeous and I can't wait to have two beautiful little girls taking ballet someday if Aubrey and Ava wish to do so.

The Birmingham Zoo and Biltmore

We took the kids to the Birmingham Zoo several weeks ago and had a great time. It was a fun family outing!

My sweet husband decided for my birthday (which is April 14 and three weeks before Ava is suppossed to arrive) that he would take me on a three night vacation to Asheville, NC to see Biltmore and to relax and enjoy each other. We decided that it might be a good idea to go in March while I could still walk rather than waiting closer to Ava's birthday. I think that was a good call especially considering all the contractions I have been having. We had so much fun! My parents kept the kids which it was hard being away for three nights but good for all of us! Thanks Scott, it was a great birthday!

Busy Weeks

We have had several busy weeks and I have not posted any updates in a while. Two weeks ago I had a stomach virus and got really dehydrated which caused me to start having some serious contractions so last Monday I had to go to the hospital and they put me on some medicine to slow the contractions which has helped so far. The following Thursday I was attempting to take my children to the Veggie Tells Premier of Pistachio at our church when our van literally just died while we were driving. Thankfully, it was only the battery and is working fine now that it has been replaced. We have been on several fun field trips over the past few weeks. Mimi took us to the Mayfield Dairy Tour, Scott and I took the kids to the Birmingham Zoo and I took the kids on a Bright Lights field trip to Dominos so they could make their own pizzas. Eli had his first Big Boy hair cut given to him by his great grandmother Omi and he has decided that he no longer requires a passy...that was so easy, he just decided he does not want it anymore. I wish potty training were that easy! We also moved Eli into a Full Size bed which he seems to like. I have almost finished working on Ava's room, I just need to sew one more pillow and paint the changing table and her room will be complete. Aubrey has almost learned all the books of the Old Testament by song and is on her 20th Bible Verse. Eli can almost sing all the words to Row, Row, Row Your Boat...his new favorite song. I am one tired mommy! Here are some cute pics of all the past fun events except for the zoo. I will post those later.
