Tate Farms

This Monday, I took the kids to Tate Farms to play on the play ground, to jump in the corn, pick out pumpkins and see the animals. We had so much fun with our friends Keri, Lexi, Mrs. Freeman (Keri's Mom) and Lisa. We ate some yummy Mexican Food at our fav restaurant and then went to the farm. Here are some cute pics of the kids.

What a week

It has been a crazy week at our house. Besides the fact that my children are currently sick, we have had some crazy things happen at our house this week. Scott and I cleaned out our attic and while we were in the attic we told the kids to stay in our bedroom so we could get down some boxes. I blocked the door with several totes. While Scott and I were in the attic, I hear Aubrey say "Mommy, Eli is turning down the air conditioner!" Scott replies with Eli can't reach the air conditioner but knowing my son, I decide to investigate. As I walk down the attic stairs, I see Eli standing on top of three totes turning down the air conditioner which normally is set on 72 but he turned it down to 66! Then several days later Aubrey cut her chin and wanted to put a bandaid on it so she runs upstairs to get one and when she gets back down stairs I notice that her shirt has hair all over it, so I asked her if she cut her hair and her eyes filled up with tears and she said Please don't spank me. I began brushing her hair with my hands and these two inch pieces of hair begin to fall to the floor. We have waited a long time for her to have hair, so I was not thrilled that she decided that she needed a hair cut, but I did not spank her, I just sternly told her that better never happen again and then I cut her hair into a short bob as you can see in the photos. What a week with these wonderful children I adore so much!

Fun in the Sun

We went on vacation in Destin, Fl and had a great time. Scott was only able to stay Sat-Tues but the kids and I stayed an entire week and crowded ourselves into my parents vehicle to ride to Birmingham where Scott picked us up on Saturday. It was absolutely packed but we are so thankful that Puh-Puh and Mimi allowed us to ride back with them and for Uncle Biv's great car packing skills. We had so much fun! Too bad we could not stay longer. I am so thankful that Opi and Omi were able to come on this vacation and that I was able to spend time with my dads side of the family. Yay for family traditions! Here are a few cute pics!

Time for Tea

Aubrey wanted to have a tea party for her 4th birthday, which, of course was very exciting to me because my grandmother (Mom Mom) always had tea parties with me as a little girl and has had two tea parties with Aubrey when we have gone to visit her. Aubrey was also given the choice of receiving gifts from all her friends or getting a few gifts from family and asking her friends to bring a donation for a charity of her choice. I am so proud of my daughters generous heart, she chose to ask her friends to bring a donation for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Her party was so much fun! Mom Mom and I were able to find enough tea cups and saucers at Goodwill, thrift stores and Old Time Pottery that all the girls could have tea with real tea cups and then could take them home. My Aunt Sonja and my mom Mimi painted nails and helped the girls choose jewelry to dress up in at Mimi's Pretty-in-Pink Boutique and I helped the girls decorate hats to wear to the tea party. The girls were gorgeous in their beautiful dresses sitting around the dining room table sipping their tea. My biggest worry for the party was being able to make the cake. I am a terrible dessert maker but to my surprise the tea pot cake turned out pretty cute. The party was a success and Aubrey raised $285.00 for St. Jude! Thank you to all who helped with the party and to those of who you joined us for tea and donated to St. Jude!

My little firecrackers

We had a fun July 4th. Our friends Steve and Krissy came over and we ate pizza and they brought lots of fireworks to shoot. Eli (my son) was terrified of the fireworks and cried the entire time but Aubrey loved every second and Ava slept thru the entire event. Sunday we went to Bridestreet and played in the fountains and then watched their firework show and because they were in the distance even Eli enjoyed them this time. Here are some cute pics of my little firecrackers. Eli is hard to catch so I did not get a really good one of him.
